The amendment would include a pledge to "rnaintain civility toward opposing parties and their counsel not only in court, but also in all written and oral communications." No one submitted comment during the time allowed. Having considered the Application, the Court determines that it is well taken. The Court appreciates the efforts of ABOTA,through its Civility Matters prograrn,to elevate the standards of integrity, honor, ethics, civility, and courtesy in the legal profession and to promote professional and civil behavior in the practice of law, among both lawyers and judges. IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that, effective immediately,the written and oral oaths of admission to the Bar of the State of Montana are amended in the forrn attached to this Order. A copy of this Order and ofthe attached copies ofthe written and oral oaths shall be posted on the Court's website. In addition, the Clerk is directed to provide copies of this Order and attachrnent to the Executive Director ofthe State Bar ofMontana,with the request that they be posted on the State Bar's website and published in the next edition of the Montana Lawyer magazine; to the Chair ofthe Cornmission on Character and Fitness;to the Bar Admissions Administrator of the State Bar of Montana; to the Dean of the Alexander Blewett III School ofLaw at the University of Montana; and to the Chair ofthe Board ofBar Exarniners.
