Syllabus

A grant made by the British Governor of Florida, after the declaration of independence within the territory lying between the Mississippi and the Chatahouchee Rivers and between the thirty-first degree of north latitude and a line drawn from the mouth of the Yazoo River due east to the Chatahouchee is invalid as the foundation of title in the courts of the United States.
