Cobranding of and Linkbacks from the Supreme Court Center and Cases
You can now include a link back to your web site or web page from Supreme Court Center searches or cases pages. The linkbacks or reciprocal links will appear throughout the Center for any user originating from your web site.
This should help users get back to the original commentary or content on your web site that led them to the case in the Center.
You can either choose to use our provided generic graphic for the link back to your web site or customize the image/graphic with your own logo.
1. USING GENERIC GRAPHICS WITH YOUR RECIPROCAL LINK
This is the easiest way to get started with your linkback. All you need is the URL you wish to link back to (your web address).
1A. LINKING TO AN INDIVUDAL CASE
Append the following text:
to any case web page URL found on the Supreme Court Center will lead to a link back to your Web site or Web page.
An example of the full link URL would be:
Just choose the page/case you want to link to, and replace
For example, our dog Little Sheba the Hug Pug has a dog law site at http://doglaw.hugpug.com, and we could add the text
The full text for the link to this case with the link back in both the header and the resources section would be:
1B. LINKING TO THE HOME PAGE
We could also link to the home page and have a link back in the header of the page.
The linkback would continue for as a user searched or browsed other case in the center.1C. ADDING SEARCH WITH A LINKBACK
To have a link back in the search, just clip and copy the text below and replace YOUR-WEBSITE-URL.com/YOUR-WEB-PAGE.html with the Web page you want to link back to.
The above code also includes links to the browse by volume and browse by year pages with linkbacks as well.
2. COBRANDING WITH YOUR OWN LOGO/GRAPHIC AND LINK
You can add a graphic with a linkback in the header and, for individual cases, a graphic with linkback on the top of the case resources box.

The link back to your web site and your logo will appear on pages for those individuals, who come to the Supreme Court Center from your site, as they browse cases and conduct searches in the Supreme Court Center.
WHAT YOU NEEDTo make your own cobrand of the Supreme Court Center (or just a case) here is what you need: 1. A URL to linkback to This URL could be your home page URL or the URL of a blog post, http://YOUR-WEBSITE-URL.com/YOUR-WEB-PAGE.html
For example, Sheba might use her blog URL: http://www.HugPug.com
This image should be 360px width X 55px height and needs to be stored on your server or a server you control eg: http://YOUR-WEBSITE-URL.com/HEADER-GRAPHIC.jpg

This image should be 200px width x 120px height and needs to be stored/hosted on your server/web site or a web site that you control, e.g.: http://YOUR-WEBSITE-URL.com/RESOURCE-GRAPHIC.jpg
Note: The image will not show up if hotlinking is prevented by your web host, or is blocked by your .htaccess file.

2A. LINKING TO AND COBRANDING AN INDIVUDAL CASE
Substitute your own linkback URL and graphics URLs into the URL below:
This URL can be broken down into a few parts.
i. URL of the case:
http://supreme.justia.com/us/544/04-368/case.htmlii. a question mark:
?iii. The URL you want the graphics to linkback to:
friendurl=http://YOUR-WEBSITE-URL.com/YOUR-WEB-PAGE.htmliv An ampersand:
&v. The 360px (width) x 55px (height) image that shows up in the top right hand side of the page (this is optional):

&vii. An image (200px width x 120px height) that will show above the case resources box (this is optional):

Note: If you give us just the URL and nothing else, we will provide two generic graphics that will link back to your web site.
Also If you only provide one graphic, we will use the generic graphic for the other one.
2B.LINKING TO AND COBRANDING THE HOME PAGE
You can also cobrand other pages in the Supreme Court Center with your link back to us and with your graphics as well. The graphics and link back to your site will continue to be displayed to your visitors/users as they search and browse the cases from your chosen entry point (click on one of the links below to check it out).

2C. ADDING AND COBRANDING SEARCH WITH A LINKBACK
You can also add your link and graphics to the Supreme Court Search. Just replace the 3 variables friendurl, friendlogo and friendcaseimage with your own (or just use the friendurl variable as the latter two are optional).
The final product will look like this if you used the HugPug.com graphics, just try searching for something below:
